Chelsea fans would have anticipated the worst when Tottenham Hotspur went 2-0 up at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after just 11 minutes.
Dominic Solanke found the back of the net for Tottenham in the fifth minute, and then six minutes later, Dejan Kulusevski doubled the advantage for the North London club.
However, Chelsea launched a comeback thereafter and eventually picked up all three points from the London derby courtesy of a 4-3 victory.
Jadon Sancho and Enzo Fernandez, hailed by Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca before the match, scored a goal each, while Cole Palmer bagged a brace.
Both of Palmer’s goals were from the penalty spot, The 22-year-old attacker’s second was a panenka.

Clinton Morrison was following the match for BBC Radio 5 Live, and the former Crystal Palace forward was hugely impressed with the performance of Palmer in the London derby.
The BBC Sport pundit believes that Palmer is world class and thinks that the England international is the best player in the Premier League at the moment.
Morrison said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “I think Cole Palmer is the best player in the league at the moment. He is a joy to watch. Fantastic footballer.”
The pundit added after Palmer scored his second goal: “This kid has got the world at his feet. Say what you want, this kid is world class.
“He is the best player in the Premier League at the moment, of that there is no doubt.”

Cole Palmer’s game in numbers
Palmer is one of the best players at Chelsea and has been one of the most consistent figures in the team for a while.
The England international scored 22 goals and gave 11 assists in the Premier League last season, and he could well repeat those stats this time around.
Against Tottenham in the London derby on Sunday, Palmer took four shots of which three were on target and played four key passes, according to WhoScored.
The former Manchester City prospect had a pass accuracy of 78.6%, took 69 touches, attempted four dribbles, made one interception and put in six crosses.
