Lewis Grabban posts cheeky reaction to Nottingham Forest’s win over Man United

Lewis Grabban is something of a cult hero at Nottingham Forest and these days he’s working alongside Warren Joyce with the B-Team.

Grabban’s goal helped Forest win promotion to the Premier League during 2021/22, although he didn’t play in the closing stages of the season through injury.

The former striker scored 56 goals in 149 appearances for Forest and also registered 10 assists during his time playing at the City Ground.

He was largely considered the captain after he’d established himself at the football club and ultimately he was a real leader of men in the dressing room.

In his capacity working with the academy he regularly attends first-team games these days and yesterday, Grabban was at Old Trafford to watch Forest in action.

Lewis Grabban posts cheeky reaction after Forest beat Manchester United

The former striker was released by Forest at the end of his contract following promotion to the Premier League and he embarked on a short-term contract in Saudi Arabia.

Things didn’t work out for him in the Middle East and he soon returned to be offered a coaching role behind the scenes with the Forest academy ranks.

Yesterday he was at Old Trafford to watch Forest win 3-2 and in the process win at the stadium for the first time in 30 years.

He posted a photo of the scoreboard at Old Trafford with a wink emoji on Instagram in a cheeky dig towards arguably the biggest brand in world football.

United have fallen way off a cliff in recent seasons and based on yesterday’s performance, it would appear as though they’re a million miles away from competing for titles again any time soon.

Forest now have genuine belief in the Premier League

For the first time in the three seasons that Forest have been back in the Premier League, there is a real feel-good factor about what the team are trying to achieve.

Forest go into every game with a clear way of playing and that is largely down to the tireless work done by Nuno Espirito Santo on the training ground.

Yesterday, it was United and back in September it was Liverpool but the overriding feeling is that Forest think they can now compete in every game at this level.

The Reds naturally still have work to do and being fifth after 15 games doesn’t win the club any prizes at this stage.

Grabban won’t have been the only person associated with Forest to have milked last night’s result and it’s a game that will love long in the memory of the fam base.
