After our Gunners secured another win in the Barclays Women's Super League, Renée Slegers gave her reflections.
Our interim coach was delighted by a third successive three points and clean sheet in the league, with three different players getting on the scoresheet.
"I'm very happy with the result," said Renée after the full-time whistle. "Obviously, two training days back from international camp and we made some changes. We have a new midfield today, and we have players coming back, getting minutes. So overall, I'm very happy with all the roles that are being played within the team.
"I think we shared possession with Aston Villa today. Normally, we have the majority of the possession, but we didn't allow them anything in the first half. Second half, we had a couple of wide crosses and two shots blocked, which were great blocks by Steph and Lotte, but we didn't allow them much.
"We were very clinical again in the final third. Even though we want to do things better, coming away from here with a 4-0 win, that's very professional."
Close to 30,000 supporters cheered on our side this afternoon, bringing some much-needed energy in stormy conditions.
"I'm happy we could deliver the goals, the clean sheet, the work rate and hopefully some nice actions from the girls. They bring us so much, the fans. Again, I think we were early out today with the team, so we could really see and feel and hear North London Forever. So, I know - it’s amazing."
Our attention now turns to midweek with a trip to Norway to face Valerenga in the Champions League.
"We need to recover now, and the next game comes quickly again. It will be a totally different game and a totally different challenge in the cold in Norway. An opposition that's really hard to beat. We need to do everything to prepare well for Thursday."
