The Thuram brothers, Marcus and Khéphren, have realized a shared dream by playing in Serie A, following in the footsteps of their father, Lilian. However, their paths have led them to opposite sides of one of Italian football’s most storied rivalries: Inter Milan and Juventus.
In a recent [**interview with UEFA Magazine**](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/marcus-thuram-io-inter-e-khephren-juventus-un-sogno-che-diventa--28756), the brothers shared insights into their unique relationship and the experience of competing against each other at the highest level.
Marcus, the elder of the two and an Inter Milan striker, expressed his excitement: “Playing in the same league, in two of the biggest teams in the league, is a dream come true.”
Khéphren, who plays for Juventus, echoed his brother’s sentiments while highlighting their family’s connection to Turin: “It’s fantastic, especially because I’m in Turin, where my father also played, in his same club. It’s beautiful, Marcus plays in another great Italian club. Of course, we don’t love each other very much.”
To which Marcus playfully added, “Exactly, we are great rivals.”
The brothers’ competitive spirit extends beyond the pitch. Marcus shared an amusing anecdote from a recent Derby d’Italia: “When we faced Juve, Khéphren was on the bench. Every scoring chance I had, I looked at him and laughed…”
Despite their on-field rivalry, the brothers share a deep bond. Marcus affectionately refers to Khéphren as his “big baby” and admits to feeling stressed when watching his younger brother play. “It’s strange because I’ll always see him as little Khéphren, even if he’s bigger than me now,” Marcus confessed.
Khéphren, in turn, expressed pride in his brother’s achievements: “When people tell me, ‘Your brother is very strong,’ it’s important to me; I’m happy about it. He’s a wonderful person, a workaholic, always with a smile on his lips.”
