Liverpool offer contracts to Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool have opened contract talks with star forward Mohamed Salah, and are looking to tie down Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold too.

Despite being top of the Premier League under Arne Slot, the future of the Liverpool trio has dominated headlines of late - particularly in the case of Salah. Following the Reds recent win over Southampton, Salah spoke publicly of his disappointment he had not been offered a new deal, a feeling he continued to express after Liverpool beat Manchester City and drew to Newcastle United.

However, it now looks as though Liverpool are willing to do a deal with their superstar forward, who has been arguably the best player in the Premier League this term. The Athletic's David Ornstein reports Liverpool have made an opening contract offer to Salah.
