After months of speculation, it appears Salah's ongoing contract saga is closer to a resolution than ever before, as Athletic journalist David Ornstein has confirmed that Liverpool have made an offer to the Egyptian.

The Liverpool superstar has been in incredible form for Arne Slot this season and has been pushing hard for a new deal in recent weeks.
There were reports that PSG were preparing an offer which put extra pressure on Liverpool to come to the table, and subsequently confusion around a post on X from a former Egyptian footballer who seemed to hint that Salah had renewed his contract.
In fact, we have seen a lot more of Salah in recent weeks than we are used to. He conducted a post-match interview after being the architect of Pep Guardiola’s meltdown at Anfield and has used his social media to hammer home his commitment to the cause.
And now, finally it seems we have confirmation that Liverpool are doing their best to keep their prize asset at the club.
Liverpool offer Salah a new deal
According to the Athletic's David Ornstein, Liverpool have made an opening contract offer to Salah.
He says that there is a growing certainty among both parties that an agreement will be reached to keep Salah at the club.
However, he stresses that it does not mean that a deal is in place.
He continues to say that all three of Liverpool's out-of-contract stars - Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold have received offers from the club.
This will be music to Reds fans ears - and now we wait for both parties to eke out the finer details and finally put pen to paper.
