Chelsea continued their fine form under Enzo Maresca to go second in the Premier League table and just four points behind Liverpool with their win at Tottenham.
Cole Palmer inspired the Blues to another big win as his double from the penalty spot ensured Maresca’s men completed a fine comeback at Spurs.
With the likes of Man City and Arsenal faltering again and Liverpool having their game with Everton called off, it’s been a big weekend for Chelsea.
However, while talk of a push for the title will be on Chelsea fans’ lips, former Liverpool man Jamie Carragher has claimed that two positions are still not strong enough.

Jamie Carragher says Robert Sanchez not good enough to win Chelsea the league
Speaking for Sky Sports about a potential title run for Chelsea, Carragher knocked back the suggestion and claimed the lack of a top goalkeeper will cost them.
“I still look at the goalkeeper [Robert Sanchez] and the two centre-backs. I can’t see a team winning the Premier League with that goalkeeper and without a standout centre-back. Man City won it with Ederson and Ruben Dias, Liverpool with Alisson and Virgil van Dijk and Chelsea with Petr Cech and John Terry,” Carragher said.
“I think this Chelsea are short in those areas.”
Could Chelsea add again in January?
This is uncharted territory really for Todd Boehly and his investors as Chelsea now look like they’re in a position to win right now.
So far, it’s all been about building for the future and putting the club in good standing for years to come.
But with the Blues now in the title mix, could Boehly and co go out and sign a top class goalkeeper in January and potentially a world-class centre-half as well? That’s the question Chelsea fans will be asking.
Carragher makes a good point about Sanchez, who has been caught out too many times this season.
If Chelsea are to win, then signing a top number one is going to be crucial.
