Real Madrid Star Mbappe Reveals He Was Prepared To Renew With PSG On This Condition

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe revealed that he was prepared to renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain on one condition during an interview with Clique TV in France.

We of course now know that Mbappe didn't do so, as he let his terms expire on June 30 this year at the Parc des Princes ahead of becoming Florentino Perez's latest Galactico by joining reigning Spanish and European champion Real Madrid on a free transfer.

But as he revealed in an interview broadcast on French television on Sunday evening, Mbappe was ready to sign on the dotted line for PSG and ditch Perez at the altar once more - as he did in 2022 - if it meant his brother Ethan's wishes were at risk of being compromised.

"It's what affected me the most. PSG was his Real Madrid, and indirectly, I took it from him," Mbappe explained.

"He told me that he didn't want to stay, that it wasn't normal for them to do it with me. I told him: 'if you want to stay, I'll renew and we stay for a while'.

"I would have given up my dream of Madrid for him. Ethan is my brother, you can't touch him. What's the point of signing for the best club in the world if you end your brother's career?," Mbappe posed.

Mbappe said that he has "always dreamed of Real Madrid". "Always. Always. Always. I don't know when or how, but I knew I was going to play here. I have a good visual memory," he recalled.

"The day before the presentation, there was a three-hour briefing, and I had to translate for my mother and father. It was exhausting.

"The next day, you have your first human contact with the boys, [and] I met the coach. Then we went to the Bernabeu, Zizou [Zinedine Zidane] was there and the crowd welcomed me like a king. The president speaks for you," Mbappe added about his presentation.

While his head coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted midweek that Mbappe isn't "at his best level", he is confident about succeeding in the Spanish capital.

"You discover a new context, a new club, climate and environment. You open all your senses. It is rather about observing. I'm going to succeed here," he declared.

As for Ethan, he indeed left PSG and now plies his trade for a Lille team that beat Madrid in the Champions League this term.
