Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho has sent another message to his parent club after scoring for the second time in as many games for Chelsea.

Sancho left Old Trafford in the summer on a loan switch with the obligation to buy at the end of the season. This deal was thrashed out after the winger and Erik ten Hag were embroiled in a public feud dating back to September 2023.

The Englishman claimed on social media that he felt he was being used as a scapegoat by Ten Hag after the Dutchman chose not to include him in his squad to face Arsenal due to training ground performances. While Sancho deleted the offending post, he failed to apologise to Ten Hag, leaving him banished to the reserves.

In January, he joined Borussia Dortmund on loan and while he did return to United and build bridges with Ten Hag, the decision was made to let him leave. While his form for Chelsea has been mixed, Sancho has found his feet this week with two goals in as many games.

His first came in the 5-2 victory over basement club Southampton and this was followed by a fine strike cutting in from the left-hand side in Chelsea's 4-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur. While Sancho has rediscovered his form, United's has deserted them.

After losing 2-0 at Arsenal in midweek, the Reds came unstuck at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening to leave them languishing in the bottom half of the table. To make matters worse for United, sporting director Dan Ashworth, who would have green lit Sancho's departure in the summer, has walked away from the club by mutual consent in a departure that has created the chaos Sir Jim Ratcliffe promised was now behind United.

Ashworth only arrived at Old Trafford five months and six days ago after a lengthy battle with Newcastle over his gardening leave and compensation fee.
