Hansi Flick will not be able to oversee a Barcelona home game from the bench for the next one and half months

One of the more memorable events from Saturday night’s match between FC Barcelona and Real Betis, which ended in a 2-2 draw, was the red card shown to the Blaugrana coach Hansi Flick.

The German tactician was dismissed with a straight red card by referee Muniz Ruiz after protesting a penalty awarded to Real Betis.

With this expulsion, the Barcelona head coach is set to miss the next two games against Leganes and Atletico Madrid in La Liga, and thus, SPORT notes that the German coach will not be able to direct his team at the Montjuic again for the next one and a half months.

After the Atletico Madrid game, which is scheduled for 21st December, Barcelona have their next home game on 26th January, against Valencia, in which Flick will be able to get on the bench at the Montjuic again.

Before that, the German coach will still be able to lead his team in several matches, though none of them are scheduled to be played at home for the Blaugrana.

This Wednesday, Barcelona have a game against Borussia Dortmund in Germany, which the German will be able to oversee normally as he is suspended only for the league games. Then he will take his team to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup at the beginning of January.

Later in that month, the Blaugranes will return to action with a game against Getafe on January 19th, but that game is scheduled to take place in Madrid. There is another UCL clash three days after this game, but that too is set to take place in Estadio Da Luz against Benfica.

Thus, it will not be till the last few days of January when Hansi Flick will be able to return to the bench at Montjuic.
