Liverpool transfer news as exciting $102m Juventus ace'wanted'and Milos Kerkez'boost'emerges

Liverpool is in a brilliant position in both the Premier League and the Champions League at the moment. And that only makes the temptation to add a player in January even stronger to give the team another boost.

Arne Slot didn't do much during the summer and the key contracts that still need sorting out are the biggest priority, but adding another midfield option — or perhaps a defender — would only be a positive thing. The question, as ever, will be whether or not the right player is available on the market.

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today. We start with a highly-rated Juventus forward who is supposedly on the radar of sporting director Richard Hughes.

Kenan Yildiz (Juventus)

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool admires the young Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz and is one of a number of clubs who have sent scouts to watch him. The report claims that he is valued at around $102m (£80m/€96m).

It also says that Yildiz is happy enough in Serie A which would make him a strange player to target. Arsenal, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund have all been reported as having an interest in him too.

The 19-year-old is a huge talent for the future but he would cost a fortune and Liverpool has another player it bought from Juventus still to find a spot for in the team in Federico Chiesa. Adding another forward isn't a priority right now.

Liverpool.com says: Ideally, Mohamed Salah will sign a contract extension at Anfield. In that case, signing another attacker would not be something that is required.

Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth)

According to the Spanish outlet Revelo, Bournemouth is preparing for the departure of left-back Milos Kerkez by exploring a move for Real Madrid ace Fran Garcia. The 25-year-old came through Madrid’s academy before moving to Rayo Vallecano in 2020.

He initially moved there on loan but then made the transfer permanent after impressing. Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola was in charge at the time and he supposedly wants to reunite in the Premier League. Garcia moved back to Real Madrid in 2023 but is behind Ferland Mendy in the pecking order under Carlo Ancelotti.

Liverpool.com says: The Reds, of course, have been linked with a move for Kerkez. With Andy Robertson only having 18 months left on his deal and Kostas Tsimikas already 28, left-back might become a priority for Liverpool sooner rather than later.
