Newcastle United must regroup after another gruelling week.
Indeed, Newcastle endured a mixed (though largely veering towards negative) time of things last week.
They laboured to a draw with a struggling Crystal Palace before turning on the style against Liverpool, albeit claiming only a point from another classic encounter between the two teams.
Any positivity from that game, however, was quickly erased with a dreadful defensive display at Brentford which had Eddie Howe questioning the attitude of some of his players.
While the Newcastle United manager will hold talks with his players about that game this week, the fixtures will soon pile up thick and fast.
Newcastle host relegation-threatened Leicester on Saturday before a huge showdown with the Bees in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals at St James’ Park.
Fail to win those and the pressure will really start to grow, at least externally.

Joe Willock
Joe Willock missed the game at Brentford with what Howe told The Shields Gazette was a “very minor” hamstring injury.
The same outlet suggest the midfielder could return for the Leicester clash.

Sven Botman
Defender Sven Botman hasn’t played since March after suffering a quick-fire second successive serious knee injury.
The Dutchman, however, is back in training and could return in a few weeks.

“He is doing well, the initial moments in training were passive but now he is fully training,” said the Newcastle boss before the Brentford game.
“He is looking good in the 11v11s, he is still a few weeks off from playing competitively but he is looking good.
Potential return date: December 2024/January 2025
Emil Krafth
Emil Krafth suffered a broken collarbone in training last month and was expected to miss around eight weeks of action.
Potential return date: Unknown
Jamaal Lascelles
Like Botman, Jamaal Lascelles is still recovering from an ACL injury suffered back in March.
Back in October, he told the Shields Gazette: ‘I should be back on the grass soon and jogging in the next few weeks. It’ll take me a while to build up from there, but I’m happy to be ticking those boxes, and now it’s about getting my boots back on and progressing slowly that way.”
