Ruthless Chelsea targeted the flaws within Ange Postecoglou's system in the days leading up to Sunday's bonkers 4-3 triumph over under-fire Tottenham.
Beaming Jadon Sancho revealed his team had planned ahead to burst Angeball – with Blues boss Enzo Maresca stressing to his players the exact way they would heap further misery on the under-fire former Celtic boss. Postecoglou cut a dejected figure as his side coughed up a 2-0 lead. Spurs now head to Ibrox for a season-defining crunch clash with Rangers in the Europa League.
And ice-cool Sancho, coolly revealed there was nothing accidental about their signature win. Speaking on Match of the Day 2, Sancho said: "We knew we could catch them if we broke the lines and beat their press, the gaffer told us to stay wide, especially the wingers, to create the one vs ones, to create the overlaps for the two vs ones. I'm just happy we got the four goals and the three points."
Sancho's verdict was seized upon on social media with multiple people claiming the Manchester United loanee's verdict "brutally exposed" Postecoglou's methods. It came after both Jamie Carragher and Paul Merson aired further doubts over the gung-ho way the 59-year-old sets up his teams.
Tottenham are in the bottom half of the Premier League and head to bottom side Southampton after Postecoglou's seismic return to Glasgow.
