Man Utd have a lot of work to do both on and off the field. Their decision-making in recent times has been questionable at best and abysmal at worst and they certainly didn’t help themselves by acrimoniously letting go of Dan Ashworth months after fighting to sign him.
Ashworth made the decision to stick with Erik ten Hag back in the summer which certainly backfired, but his signings weren’t necessarily bad.

Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui have settled in admirably well at the club and are first-choice starters.
Leny Yoro unfortunately has been out with an injury since the beginning of the season and just made his first start in a Man Utd shirt. Manuel Ugarte struggled initially but has been getting better with every performance. It is only Joshua Zirkzee who has flattered to deceive.
Now, despite having no sporting director at the helm, the club continue to be linked with new players. As per TBR Football, Man Utd have held talks to sign talented Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies who also has interest from Liverpool.
With Davies in the final year of his contract, both Man Utd and Liverpool see this to be ‘too good of an opportunity’ to pass on.
However, Real Madrid are extremely interested in signing him and when Los Blancos usually want a player, they end up signing him.
The Canadian is the perfect profile to play as a wing-back in Ruben Amorim’s system. He can add so much attacking impetus to the team from the left side and one would assume someone like Marcus Rashford would really thrive with Davies overlapping him.
However, it is a stretch to imagine Davies would sign for Man Utd, considering their sporting level at the moment. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the Canadian but him wearing a Red Devils jersey feels rather far-fetched at this point of time.
