John Terry shows his true colours with response to chant as Chelsea mount title challenge

Ex- Chelsea captain John Terry has shown his appreciation for his former club in a series of Instagram stories on Sunday evening.

Terry, who celebrated his 44th birthday on Saturday, shared a clip on social media platform Instagram as supporters sung the "John Terry has won the double" song ahead of Chelsea's Premier League clash away at Tottenham Hotspur. He posted the video along with trophy and blue heart emojis.

It was the worst possible start for Enzo Maresca 's side in north London as they found themselves two goals down after 11 minutes. Two slips from Marc Cucurella resulted in goals for Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski.

Jadon Sancho offered Chelsea a lifeline in the first half as he pulled a goal back, and they looked much better after the break as they came from behind to lead Spurs with 15 minutes left to play. In the 84th minute, Chelsea were awarded a second penalty that was calmly converted by Cole Palmer.

Terry shared a second video on social media of the spot kick, watching on nervously as the 22-year-old stepped up to take it. The former Chelsea captain could be heard shouting "Come on!" after Palmer dinked Fraser Forster to put the result beyond doubt.

The clip was shared along with the caption: "Get in. Get the tequila out. It's happened again."

Chelsea now sit second in the Premier League standings after Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw against Fulham earlier in the day. Just four points separate Maresca's side and Liverpool in first, although the Merseyside outfit do have a game in hand over their rivals.
