Brazilian winger Marquinhos is set to return to the Emirates in January.
When he was signed from São Paulo in the summer of 222, there were expectations that, in time, he could become a top class player. He was sent on loan to Norwich City for the second half of the 2022/2023 season, which was mixed in terms of performances.
His next loan spell with Nantes in France was disastrous though, and it was cut short in January.
He then returned to Brazil with Fluminense was hoped to rejuvenate his career, with that move having an option to buy.
However. Fluminense have indicated that they will not exercise that option, and he will return to the Emirates in January.
Given that he would appear to have no future under Mikel Arteta then a new loan arrangement for the Brazilian for the rest of the season would appear the best solution for player and club.
