Collymore was a goalscoring machine when he played for Forest and in 1994/95 after he’d scored the winner against United, the Reds went and finished third in the Premier League.
It was a remarkable season for a newly promoted team and Frank Clark ensured that Forest didn’t suffer much of a hangover after losing Brian Clough.
After Saturday’s famous win at Old Trafford, Collymore posted on X and it’s fair to say that he was pretty impressed with the performance that Forest produced.

Collymore’s record at Forest was nothing short of astonishing and it was such a shame when he decided to join Liverpool in 1995 after just two years with the club.
His goals helped Forest win promotion to the Premier League during the 1993/94 campaign and he then continued his goalscoring exploits during the following season.
Collymore scored 41 goals in 65 appearances for the Reds and became a hit with supporters almost instantly with his powerful displays in the team.
The striker also played for Liverpool, Aston Villa, Fulham, Leicester, Bradford and Real Oviedo during a colourful career.
Collymore was capped three times by England and was also famously named in the all-time Nottingham Forest XI when fans voted for it during a 150th-year anniversary.
