Deal increasingly likely: Arsenal&Man United in race for potential€75m transfer

It looks increasingly likely that a top transfer target for both Arsenal and Manchester United will be leaving his current club for a bigger move.

After some hugely impressive performances in his time in the Premier League, there is now reportedly growing interest in Wolves striker Matheus Cunha, who is expected to move on from Molineux.

CaughtOffside recently reported on both Arsenal and Man Utd pursuing Cunha, and there’s now been a further update as Spanish outlet Todo Fichajes confirm the stories and explain the current situation.

Todo Fichajes state that it won’t be easy to get Cunha out of Wolves, though a deal for the Brazil international is described as looking more and more real.

CaughtOffside were also previously told that Cunha would likely cost around €75m, so it will be interesting to see if the Gunners or the Red Devils are ready to pay quite that much for the 25-year-old.

Could Matheus Cunha be the answer for Arsenal or Man United?

Arsenal and United are both in very different positions right now, but one similarity they share is a need for a bit more inspiration in the final third.

Although Mikel Arteta has Arsenal challenging for the Premier League title, he looks in need of more variety up front, with his team overly reliant on Bukayo Saka to provide that spark in attack, while Kai Havertz has had mixed success since moving from midfield to filling in as a number 9.

United, meanwhile, are struggling in the bottom half of the table and urgently need to make changes in pretty much every area of their squad.

MUFC would do well to start by shifting out flops like Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, with Cunha surely an upgrade, based on what we’ve seen from him with his superb all-round play for Wolves.
