Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has given a superb reaction to Cole Palmer's Panenka penalty against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, December 8. The Blues secured a stunning 4-3 win away to their London rivals, despite going 2-0 down early in the game.
Spurs took the lead through Dominic Solanke in the fifth minute, before Dejan Kulusevski doubled the score in the 11th minute. Enzo Maresca's men began the fightback through Jadon Sancho, who pulled one back in the 17th minute.
Chelsea were level in the game when Palmer scored his first of the evening from the spot in the 61st minute. Enzo Fernandez sent the Blues ahead in the 73rd minute, before Palmer was called into action once again.
Stepping up for his second penalty in the 84th minute, the Englishman opted for a Panenka to send his team 4-2 ahead. Fans are accustomed to Palmer's calmness under pressure, and Fofana, who missed the game due to injury, was equally thrilled.
Posting a story on Instagram immediately after the goal, the Frenchman gave a cheeky response.
“Panenka! It’s too cold in Tottenham!” wrote Fofana.
Son Heung-min pulled one back for the home side in the sixth minute of injury time, but it was too little too late. Chelsea have now won the last three games against Tottenham Hotspur and have eight wins in their last 10 games across competitions.

Cole Palmer has been a huge hit at Stamford Bridge since arriving from Manchester City in the summer of 2023. Last season, the Englishman registered 27 goals and 15 assists from 48 games across competitions for Chelsea.
Palmer has continued that form this campaign, scoring 11 goals and setting up six more from 17 games. The 22-year-old has scored the second-most goals for the Blues this season, behind Christopher Nkunku, who has 12 to his name.
Cole Palmer's efforts are likely to turn heads at multiple clubs across the continent. However, the player is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2033, so the London giants are likely to be relaxed about the situation.
Chelsea have been outstanding under Enzo Maresca this season and are currently second in the Premier League table after 15 games. They have won nine and lost just twice in the league, and are four points behind leaders Liverpool. The Blues have also scored the most goals (35) in the league this season.
