Man City's Claudio Echeverri plan surfaces after he joins in January, it actually involves Pep…

Once Claudio Echeverri makes his way to the Etihad Stadium in January, Manchester City supporters will be hoping that he sparks new life into the side.

However, it is important to note that Echeverri is just 18 years old and as a result, expecting him to set the world alight from the minute he plays Premier League football might be unrealistic.

It was recently speculated that Pep Guardiola’s plan for Echeverri is not to give him too many minutes in his first few weeks at Manchester City.

But it goes without saying that the Argentine is one of the most exciting youngsters in South America.

River Plate boss Martin Demichelis hailed Echeverri as a “marvel” technically and a top player in the making.

Claudio Echeverri set to train under Pep Guardiola to prepare for Premier League

City will be hoping that Echeverri turns out to become as fruitful for them as the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Julian Alvarez were, who were both signed as young South American imports.

However, it would not come as a surprise if it takes the highly-rated attacking midfielder quite a bit of time to adapt to life in England.

According to journalist Veronica Brunati, Echeverri will start training under Pep Guardiola in the new year and “prepare physically” in order to adapt to the Premier League.

Brunati also revealed that the fleet-footed technician played his final game in a River Plate shirt against Rosario Central, which his boyhood club won 4-0 in convincing fashion.

It was revealed in November that Manchester City will integrate Echeverri straightaway into their first-team squad.

In May, it emerged that Martin Demichelis informed Manchester City about Echeverri being a special young player as well.

Carlos Tevez predicted Echeverri to have a ‘great future’

Former City striker Carlos Tevez lauded Echeverri while giving his two cents on him in January.

Tevez claimed: “He seems to me to be a very interesting player, who is not seen today. I was very surprised by the personality he has.”

“I see a great future. Let’s get used to the fact that when a gem comes out like that, we are going to enjoy it.”

Considering Carlos Tevez was once an outstanding youngster and went on to become a world-class player, his verdict certainly holds weight.

Echeverri certainly seems to be highly rated by several legendary Argentine players like Tevez and Aguero.

How quickly Manchester City feel he is ready to play in the Premier League is the question.
