However unbelievable it may sound, Manchester United are said to be mulling over a move for Son Heung-min.
Numerous outlets have now relayed the rumours – initially, GiveMeSport, which declared last week that the ‘world-class’ attacker was viewed as a ‘viable target’ for INEOS chiefs. The latest report to do the rounds comes courtesy of Fichajes, which claims Tottenham Hotspur are internally facing a battle to keep their talisman in North London beyond his contract expiry.
That being said, they retain full control until the end of next season due to the one-year option in his terms that they will presumably activate. Then, Son will be 33, and the board will perhaps be more at peace with him leaving as a free agent.
Son, who was granted the captaincy following Hugo Lloris’ departure last year, has remained a mainstay under Ange Postecoglot. But as he closes in on his 10th year at the club, he has no silverware to show for his loyalty or prolific goalscoring efforts.
