Celtic have included Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka in their target list, and Brendan Rodgers’ side would have to battle it out with AC Milan for his signature.
That’s according to Calciomercato, and they cover the latest on Celtic and Milan’s interest in the 21-year-old.
He hasn’t managed to cement a place at Chelsea, clocking in 63 minutes from four games this season. Enzo Maresca has left the midfielder out of the squad for the Premier League.
Chukwuemeka isn’t pleased with his situation at Chelsea and wants to leave the Blues in the winter market. The report’s title says Celtic are ‘in pole position’, while the Serie A side are also keen on signing him.
Milan technical director Geoffrey Moncada is trying to make an approach, after failing to sign the Chelsea player in the summer. They aim to sign him on loan with an option to buy.
Moncada is in contact with the Chelsea man’s agent and is trying to maintain control over this case. Chukwuemeka has given his approval to the Rossoneri and is waiting for them to make the decisive move.
Paulo Fonseca’s side are also working on other profiles while keeping this track alive. In the meantime, the report states Brendan Rodgers’ side have ‘gained pole’ in the transfer race.
Chukwuemeka favours Milan and therefore, Celtic would face a battle if they decide to sign him in January.
