On summer deadline day, Crystal Palace allowed Naouirou Ahamada to join Stade Rennais on a season-long loan deal.
The temporary move hasn’t worked out at all for the midfielder as he’s yet to feature for the Ligue 1 side and has been restricted to one appearance for their reserve team this season.
According to Jeunes Footeux, the Crystal Palace player’s stay at Stade Rennais could be cut short in January.
It’s claimed Stade Rennais manager Jorge Sampaoli has ‘not at all included’ the 22-year-old in his core plans this season and therefore, Ahamada ‘wishes to leave’ the French club in the winter market.
Frédéric Massara, the sporting director of the Ligue 1 side, has opened talks with Crystal Palace, and the parties are currently in negotiations to cut short the Eagles man’s loan deal.
Oliver Glasner is unlikely to give opportunities to the Frenchman and Crystal Palace want to place him at another club in January.
Therefore, the Premier League side want to find a new club for Ahamada before accepting Stade Rennais’ request to terminate his loan deal.
Ahamada arrived at Crystal Palace in January 2023 and his deal lasts until 2026.
