“Without a doubt” – Liverpool player says he fancies move to La Liga at some point

Liverpool are the only team to win all five of their group stage fixtures of the Champions League this season and are currently at the top of the table.

The Reds will look to extend that positive record when they face Girona on Tuesday.

Ahead of this tie, Monday’s edition of AS has published an interview with Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister.

The Argentina international joined the Premier League side from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2023 and his deal lasts until 2028.

Towards the end of the interview, the 25-year-old was specifically asked if he would like to move to Spain in the future. The World Cup winner has left the door open while insisting he’s happy at Liverpool.

“Yes, why not? It is a country that I really like, and I have visited it several times, and, above all, because of the language and culture it is very similar to Argentina,” he said.

“Without a doubt, I would like to play in Spain one day. But today I am very comfortable at Liverpool.”

Earlier this year, we covered claims from Argentina which stated Mac Allister could leave Anfield at the end of this season. It was also said Real Madrid are following him closely.

The midfielder’s latest admission could come as an encouragement for the La Liga side, if they are still keen on signing him.

Meanwhile, the South American has detailed the difference between Arne Slot and Jürgen Klopp.

“We came from a long process with Jürgen, where the main ideas were already established,” Mac Allister explained.

“Basically, Arne Slot hasn’t come to change everything, but to add his methodology to what we have already been working on. The biggest difference is patience when we have the ball. Now we have the ball more.”
