Manchester United slumped to a disappointing defeat on Saturday evening as Ruben Amorim saw his side lose 3-2 at the hands of Nottingham Forest.
If Ruben Amorim wasn’t sure about the scale of the job ahead of him at Manchester United, he certainly will be now.
United lost 2-0 at Arsenal last week and were looking for a response against Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening.
This turned into a nightmare for United as Forest scored early in a 3-2 away win at Old Trafford with United stumbling.
Rio Ferdinand has branded United’s defeat a ‘shambles’ with Amorim now tasting back-to-back defeats for the first time since his appointment.

Leny Yoro reacts to first Manchester United start
Conceding three goals at home is hardly the recipe for success and Amorim will be frustrated with some soft goals.
Morgan Gibbs-White defended Andre Onana but the Forest star’s shot appeared tame and somehow beat the United stopper.
There weren’t many positives for United to take but a first Premier League start for Leny Yoro was a small bright spot.
MORE UNITED STORIES
Yoro came off the bench against Arsenal to make his Premier League debut on Wednesday night.
Amorim praised Yoro’s performance against Arsenal and thrust him into starting action against Forest on Saturday.
Yoro couldn’t help United claim a win and won’t exactly be pleased with United conceding three goals in his presence.
The Frenchman has though taken to Instagram to reflect on his first Premier League start as a United player.
Yoro admitted that playing at Old Trafford was a ‘special moment’ for him despite not picking up the desired result.
Yoro also paid tribute to receptionist Kath Phipps following her passing in recent days, sending his thoughts to her family.
Yoro will hope for more opportunities soon
Seeing Yoro start as United’s right-sided centre back was a small surprise given how Amorim has praised Noussair Mazraoui’s displays.
Amorim wanted to see Yoro in action though and Saturday’s start will help him gain some sharpness after months on the sidelines.
Just where Yoro’s future lies in Amorim’s back three moving forward is unclear.
Yoro fits the mould for the right-sided role but Mazraoui has arguably been United’s best player in the early days under Amorim.
Yoro could play in the middle of the back line though with Matthijs de Ligt blowing hot and cold since his summer arrival.
United will expect a huge future from Yoro wherever he plays and with Europa League, EFL Cup and FA Cup games in the coming weeks, there will be more chances for him to shine.
