Federico Dimarco has completed his growth into a superstar over the last three years at Inter Milan.
This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They note how the 27-year-old is on par with Paris Saint-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi for goals and assists.
Dimarco returned to Inter from a loan at Hellas Verona in 2021.
The Italian international was not a regular starter for Inter right away.
Rather, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi valued him for his versatility.
Dimarco was capable of backing up either Ivan Perisic on the left flank, or Alessandro Bastoni in the back three. He got starts and substitute appearances in both roles.

But it was in the 2022-23 season that things really started to change for Dimarco.
While Robin Gosens was expected to be the long-term successor to Perisic, Dimarco instead inherited the Croat’s mantle.
That meant that Dimarco started playing more or less exclusively at wingback.
And in that role, Dimarco has shown how devastating he can be as an attacking wide player.
Dimarco has made eleven goals and eleven assists since the start of last season.
That is just one assist behind Achraf Hakimi. The Moroccan is a player whose departure from Inter to join Paris Saint-Germain came as a major blow.
Dimarco also showed with high right-footed goal against Parma that he is only adding to his game.
