Celtic are said to be fighting a European giant for the Chelsea talent.
Celtic are said to be in direct competition with AC Milan for the signature of a Chelsea midfielder.
Reports emerged recently that Carney Chukwuemeka, who is yet to play a Premier League game this campaign, is wanted by Brendan Rodgers’ side. The Blues star joined from Aston Villa in 2022 in a deal worth in the region of £20m but has so far played just over 30 games.
That has left his future at a crossroads and now Calciomercato claim that Celtic are one of the key contenders for his signature, as is AC Milan. The San Siro club’s technical director Geoffrey Moncada is trying to maintain order surrounding the Serie A club’s position.
Reports state that while the Chelsea man has already agreed to making a switch to Milan in January, it is Glasgow and Celtic that looks the likelier landing spot out of the two destinations. AC Milan, however, have a chief looking to land a star he is said to be head over heels for.

Calciomercato’s reporting states: “The 2003-born player is a real obsession of Geoffrey Moncada who is deciding to make the decisive move after having tried for a long time also during last summer. The former Aston Villa player has already said yes and now he is just waiting for the green light to fly to Milan and wear the red and black shirt.
“Deal done? Not yet, Milan is keeping the Chukwuemeka trail hot but is also working on other midfield objectives. The idea would be to take Carney on loan with an option to buy, taking advantage of the boy's desire for a change of scenery.
“The conditions of the transfer will be fundamental, Milan would like to take advantage of only one possible opportunity. Many are ready to bet on Chukwuemeka's qualities with Celtic Glasgow who, at the moment, have gained pole position. Moncada is speaking with the agents and maintaining a situation of control over the boy, in a few weeks the situation will be defined one way or the other.”
