Alexis Mac Allister has been one of Liverpool’s best players this season, with the midfielder thriving under Arne Slot.
Former manager Rafa Benitez lauded Mac Allister after the Liverpool star’s performance against Real Madrid last month, with the Argentine international scoring against the reigning European champions and dominating the midfield at Anfield.
Although Mac Allister will miss Liverpool’s next Premier League fixture against Fulham due to suspension, the former Brighton & Hove Albion star has again shown his quality this season after a mixed first year on Merseyside.
And Mac Allister has now shared how eager he is for one Liverpool player to stay at Anfield beyond this season.

Mac Allister sends contract message to Trent Alexander-Arnold
Speaking to AS, Mac Allister lauded Liverpool teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold whilst sharing how eager the midfielder is for the England international to remain with the Reds beyond this season.
The 26-year-old right-back’s contract is due to expire next summer, with Madrid looking like favourites to sign Alexander-Arnold as a free-agent, and Mac Allister has now said his piece on why the defender should stay with Slot’s side.

“I have always said that he was criticised for his defensive role, but I have no doubt that he is a difference-maker both in defence and attack. In addition, he is strong and fast, which allows him to find that balance between attack and defence. Like Salah, he is in negotiations and I hope he can continue in the team.”

What else has been said about Alexander-Arnold this season?
Even with the looming contract situation hanging over Alexander-Arnold’s head, that hasn’t stopped the Liverpool defender from enjoying one of his best seasons yet with the Reds in the right-back position.
Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe lauded Alexander-Arnold after the defender’s ‘outstanding’ cameo for Liverpool last week and St. James’ Park, with Damien Delaney saying the fullback ‘changed the game’ for the Reds.
With Martin Keown lauding Alexander-Arnold’s development under Slot, the Liverpool star looks more complete than ever this season, and supporters will have ever right to be frustrated if the defender leaves for nothing next summer.
