Frank Lampard and John Terry send message to Cole Palmer after Chelsea heroics against Tottenham

Enzo Maresca described Sunday evening's win against Tottenham as "perfect" for his Chelsea players.

Nothing about the performance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was perfect from a Blues perspective but the mental toughness the visitors showed to beat the adversity against their rivals was a little bit closer to that description. Spurs raced to a 2-0 lead within 11 minutes after a couple of slips from Marc Cucurella allowed Dominic Solanke to open the scoring and then Dejan Kulusevski to add to it not long afterwards.

"Since we started, we are trying to work in the way we want to play on and off the ball," Maresca explained after the game. "Also, the togetherness.

"To come to this stadium and think you are not going to suffer, it is impossible. We were ready for that. It was probably too much to give away two goals in 15 minutes but it is the perfect win."

After Chelsea went two goals down, Jadon Sancho replied with an outstanding strike from long-range to cut the deficit in half. Cole Palmer was then on hand to score from the penalty spot in the second-half after Yves Bissouma brought Moises Caicedo down inside the box.

Enzo Fernandez then struck Chelsea ahead with a fine left-footed shot into the bottom corner to continue his sensational recent form. Palmer then chipped his second penalty down the middle in typical ice-cold fashion to make it 4-2, before Son Heung-min scored a consolation goal for the hosts in stoppage time.

As always after a huge win, social media is quite the place for Chelsea fans. They usually get to see their favourite players interact with each other online - and yesterday evening's win at Spurs was no different.

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard could not stay away, leaving a simple - but effective - one word message on Palmer's Instagram. "Class," Lampard commented on Palmer's post, followed by three blue love hearts.

John Terry, too, felt the need to show his appreciation to Chelsea's star man after another match-winning display. Terry, the former Blues captain, left a 'respect' emoji, followed by a blue love heart and the football symbol.

Meanwhile, Fernandez, who scored the goal to put Chelsea ahead for the first time in the game, also posted on Instagram. Alongside a picture of the Argentine celebrating, he wrote: "LONDON IS BLUE. +3", a post that led to several comments from teammates past and present.

Sancho commented: "Top hermano!". While Caicedo wrote: "Fernandezzz", alongside some fire emojis.

Cucurella, too, joined in on the celebrations on Instagram. Taking the mick out of himself, the Spaniard posted a pictures of his boots in the bin - referencing his slips in the first-half - and wrote: "Sorry Blues", with a relieved face emoji.

There did seem to be a real togetherness about Chelsea on Sunday - and you could tell that by the celebrations in front of the travelling supporters. But, also, when you look at the social media accounts of the players and how they all interact with one another, it is clear to see the general good feeling within the club at the moment.
