Arne Slot handed huge injury boost

Liverpool have been going through a bit of an injury crisis of late, although you wouldn't really be able to tell by their results.

Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Conor Bradley and Kostas Tsimikas have all been amongst the names who have been forced out in recent matches.

One of the most significant longer-term injuries has been to striker Diogo Jota, who suffered a rib injury during the 2-1 win over Chelsea on October 20th.

But Liverpool are set to see him back in action very soon, as Jota was spotted in full training with the team ahead of the trip to Girona tomorrow.

It will be a significant addition to the Reds whether it comes in Spain for the Champions League tomorrow night or when a flying Fulham side visit Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Both Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz have operated from the central attacking position with Jota out, but the Portuguese international was Arne Slot's first choice for a reason and his tenacity, willingness to link play and aerial ability has been sorely missed.

Diogo Jota returns to training with youth stars

Also spotted in the session was a whole host of youth stars who have been making names for themselves through the Liverpool academy recently.

Trey Nyoni and Jayden Danns are both names that have made their first-team debuts already, with Nyoni being a bit of a fixture in matchday squads this season whilst Danns has just battled back from injury.

But under-21 captain Amara Nallo was also seen after his role on the bench against Newcastle last week, alongside promising talent Rio Ngumoha, James Norris and James McConnell.

Norris has featured in every game for Liverpool's under-21s so far this season, primarily in his favoured left-back position.

With Liverpool's injury crisis mainly hitting the defence at the moment, he could provide necessary cover for Andy Robertson due to Kostas Tsimikas's recent ankle issue.
