Giorgi Mamardashvili picks up concerning injury–Medical tests on way, Liverpool surely watching

Giorgi Mamardashvili is currently at Valencia but will join Liverpool at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

The Reds in announced the move this summer, and Valencia got their wish of keeping him for the rest of the current season.

He’s played 14 times in La Liga this season, and was set to be key in their battle against relegation prior to setting off for Liverpool.

However, there’s now been an injury blow which will concern both clubs.

El Chiringuito have reported today that the 24-year-old has picked up an injury in the ‘rectus femoris’ of his right leg, a muscle in the thigh area.

He will undergo medical tests soon and those will determine the extent of damage and how long the Georgia international will be out for.

Liverpool fans would hope that the injury isn’t of a long-term nature, as something like that could also affect them next season.

Of course, there could be a clash of priorities here, with Valencia needing him back for their relegation battle and Liverpool not wanting him to risk any longer term damage.
