The January transfer window is but mere weeks from opening and Philippe Clement is already speaking about Rangers budgets and prospective targets.
The Belgian manager hopes that Santa will be particularly good to him this year as he looks to reinforce a young squad who’ve begun showing shoots of progress in the last few weeks.
There is still a long way to go for Philippe Clement but it’s clear the Rangers squad will take a few transfer windows to fine tune into his perfect image.
But it appears that one Chelsea player who has been offered to Rangers this January looks set to sign elsewhere – but not if Old Firm rivals Celtic have anything to do with it.

Rangers linked to Chelsea attacker
Rangers News revealed last week that Rangers were a number of clubs offered Chelsea talent Carney Chukwuemeka on loan ahead of the January transfer window.
The Premier League loan market has been a fruitful one for Rangers in recent seasons, with Chukwuemeka potentially set to follow in the footsteps of Amad Diallo, Abdallah Sima and Fabio Silva before him.
But given the sorts of finances involved, there were major doubts that Rangers were ever going to take Chelsea up on their offer.
Now, Carney Chukwuemeka now looks set to move elsewhere.
MORE RANGERS STORIES
Chukwuemeka joined the Blues in a £20m deal back in 2022 but has struggled for game time since making the switch to Stamford Bridge.
Now, reports coming out of Italy have suggested that the 21-year-old England youth international could be set for a move to the legendary AC Milan.
Or worse.
Carney Chukwuemeka wanted in Italy and Scotland
As reported by Calcio Mercato in Italy, AC Milan have ‘rekindled’ their interest in Carney Chukwuemeka after failing in a bid this summer.
The report claims that AC Milan want to sign Chukwuemeka on a loan with option-to-buy in the hope of convincing the attacking midfielder his future lies in Italy.
According to Calcio Mercato, Chukwuemeka has already said yes and is waiting on the green light to fly to Italy and complete a deal.
But it’s clear AC Milan are not the only club who are in the mix as things stand.
The report suggests that Old Firm rivals Celtic, who have also been offered Chukwuemeka, are also very interested in taking the Chelsea talent on loan with the Parkhead side in ‘pole position’.
With Rangers struggling to put up the kind of cash expected to finance a deal, fans will be hoping Chukwuemeka heads to Milan instead of Glasgow.
It kind of backs up Philippe Clement’s controversial suggestion that our Old Firm rivals are in a ‘different league’ financially.
