Everton are all set to battle it out with Manchester City and Newcastle United for the services of Sierra Leonean sensation Juma Bah.
Juma Bah’s sensational rise has caught the attention of multiple top clubs from across Europe. According to Alan Nixon, Everton, Manchester City, and Newcastle United are three English clubs that have taken note of his impressive performances for Real Valladolid in La Liga.
The Merseyside club are interested in acquiring his services, and they are willing to rival Manchester City as well as the Magpies in the race for the signature of the teenage defensive sensation.
Bah is currently on a season-long loan at the Spanish club from Sierra Leone outfit, AIK Freetong. The 18-year-old centre-back has featured in a total of nine first-team games, and he has surely impressed a lot of people with his performances.
His defensive awareness, and aerial prowess along with his physical strength make him a huge prospect for the future. While he might not be ready for regular first-team action yet, Bah is someone who could do wonders in the long run.
As a result, clubs are looking to strike a deal for his services in the upcoming transfer window. While he is on loan at Valladolid until the end of the season, it won’t be that big a surprise if a top club ends up signing him mid-season.
Premier League clubs battle for Juma Bah
Manchester City are always on the lookout for young stars who can help them in the long run. The Premier League champions are considering refreshing their defence, and Bah is quite high on their wishlist. Pep Guardiola’s team have not ruled out the possibility of signing him in the winter.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United have also been focusing on signing players who can help them in the short as well as the long run. They lack depth at the back and feel the Sierra Leonean could be a great signing for them. While both Manchester City and the Magpies are keen, they will face significant competition from Everton.
The Merseyside club want to bring in a young talent to reinforce their backline for the long run and they consider signing Bah a logical investment for the long run. With the Friedkin Group takeover lined up, the Toffees have ambitious plans and signing the teenager could be a statement of intent.
AIK Freetong are demanding as much as £12 million for his services and with multiple top clubs pushing, Everton will have to act swiftly if they want to ensure they do not miss out on him.
