Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has refused to rule out leaving the club in the future as he pleaded with the Reds to keep Mohamed Salah at Anfield.
The Argentina international arrived in an initial £35million transfer from Brighton, which will rise to £55m if add-on clauses are met, in July 2023.
The 25-year-old has quickly become a fans' favourite after scoring nine times in 67 appearances during his 18-month spell on Merseyside.
But the World Cup winner has admitted he is unlikely to spend the rest of his career with Liverpool, revealing that he has ambitions to play in La Liga at some point in the future.
When asked if he has any interest of playing in Spain one day, Mac Allister told AS: "Yes, why not?
"It's a country I like a lot and I've visited it several times, and, above all, because of the language and the culture, it's very similar to Argentina. I would definitely like to play in Spain one day."
Mac Allister is under contract until 2027, but his comments will no doubt put Liverpool chiefs on alert.
The Reds have lost several key players to the Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid over the years, namely Luis Suarez, Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano.
