It’s a nightmare. A bad dream that loops endlessly. You’re lost in a vast, empty parking lot, frantically searching for your car but never quite able to find it. The rows stretch on forever, and with each turn, the hopelessness deepens. You retrace your steps, only to realize you’re right back where you started, stuck in an endless cycle of frustration. Right now, that’s what watching the 12-11 Phoenix Suns feels like. A constant, unsettling déjà vu. The same mistakes, the same struggles, over and over again, with no clear way out.
The loss on Sunday night was the same. Phoenix takes a lead with them into halftime, but for one reason or another, they shoot themselves in the foot and piss the game away.
You can tell me no KD. No Nurk. And I’ll tell you: this is a foundational issue. This team, at their core, isn’t focused. It’s the same issue we had last year. New coach. Same issue. What does that tell you?
Bright Side Baller Season Standings:
Royce O’Neale has been on an absolute tear this road trip, delivering performance after performance that should be enough to swing games in the Suns’ favor. His energy, hustle, and contributions have been a bright spot amidst the chaos. And that’s what makes this even more frustrating.
When your role players step up and give you a plus performance — offering exactly what you need in key moments — you have to capitalize. But instead, the Suns continue to falter, wasting opportunities and failing to build on the solid efforts of those like O’Neale. It’s the kind of thing that leaves you questioning what more this team needs to break through.
He took home the Bright Side Baller for his efforts against the Heat, which gives him two on the year, coming in consecutive efforts.
