Arsenal may explore a potential January transfer for a £20 million Premier League striker as they look to bolster their attacking options in the title race.
The Gunners’ pursuit of domestic glory suffered a setback over the weekend as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage. Despite dominating the match, Mikel Arteta’s side were left frustrated as a late Bukayo Saka header was disallowed by VAR due to an offside in the buildup. The result saw Arsenal drop to third place in the table, six points behind league leaders Liverpool.
Speaking after the match, Arteta expressed his disappointment with the outcome. “Gutted that we didn’t win it, because I think we deserved to win from the beginning to the end,” he said. “We did almost everything that we had to do to win it.

“But this is the quality of the opposition; with one chance, they score a goal. And then the margins of the league as well. For millimetres, we could have been sitting here with three points after a really strong and dominant performance against a really good team.”

Arsenal’s struggles to convert chances in open play have raised questions about their attacking depth, prompting speculation about potential reinforcements. While Gabriel Jesus made an appearance off the bench, the team failed to find a late winner, reigniting debates over the need for additional firepower.

Reports suggest Arsenal could be tempted to make a move for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with Everton reportedly open to offers for the striker as his contract nears its expiration in June. The Sun claims that the Toffees are eager to avoid losing the 26-year-old for free next summer and will entertain bids in January.
Despite scoring just twice in 14 appearances this season, Calvert-Lewin’s Premier League experience and physicality have made him a potential target for several clubs, including West Ham, Newcastle United, and AC Milan. Arsenal, however, might be hesitant to pay a transfer fee for a player who will be available on a free transfer come July 1.
Calvert-Lewin is also eligible to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs starting in January, which could influence Arsenal’s decision-making.
