Arsenal have joined race for Liverpool target Joao Pedro. Both of the Premier League giants are keen to improve their attack. Out of them, Gunners are in most need to improve their front line due to the testing start of this season.
Joao Pedro has been in superb form since making a switch to Brighton last year. He ended the last season with 20 goals and 3 assists in 40 games. The Brazilian has kept up his fine form this season and has scored 4 goals and picked 3 assists in just 9 Premier League games.
At just 23 years old, Pedro looks like a next big star in Brazilian football. He can play as striker, attacking midfielder or even as a left winger. This versatility has had him linked with some of the top clubs across Europe recently.
Arsenal join Liverpool in the race to sign Joao Pedro
As per Todo Fichajes, Gunners are keeping close tabs on Joao Pedro. The player is already been looked upon by Liverpool. Brighton are known for selling their players whenever right offer pops up and for Pedro they are keen to do the same. They are demanding around €50 million for the Brazil international.
Pedro may agree to move to any of these two clubs as it will mean a huge step up in his career. Both Arsenal and Liverpool have good relationship with Brighton having previously signed players from them.
Pedro can directly compete with Martinelli for the starting position. In addition, he can serve as a quality backup for Saka, Havertz and Odegaard due to his amazing versatility. Due to his young age, he can be perfect long term replacement to Trossard who is 30 years old.
At Liverpool, Pedro will have limited chances due to the current form of every player at the club. He will mostly be looked upon as backup although he might come into consideration of starting role once Mohamed Salah leaves the club.
