Chelsea midfielder agrees a move to AC Milan

Chelsea superstar Carney Chukwuemeka is heavily linked with a move to AC Milan. The 21 year old midfielder is reported to have agreed a move with Italian club. A January switch from Stamford Bridge to San Siro can be expected.

Is Carney Chukwuemeka leaving Chelsea?

The Blues signed the 21 year old in summer 2022 from Aston Villa. The player shone bright in his early days with Villa which forced Chelsea to offer him a six year contract. But the move did not work out and now the player is being linked with a move away from West London.

Over the past 3 seasons, Carney has played only 31 matches. Along with some injury concerns, the 21 year old has fallen down the pecking order. This season he has played just 4 matches out of which he has not started in any. In addition, he has played just 64 minutes of football and is yet to play a single minute in Premier League.

The Blues already have a large squad depth and they need to part ways with some of their stars. Stars from all positions are on the chopping list and as far as midfield is concerned Chukwuemeka is on the list.

AC Milan keen to sign Chukwuemeka

According to Calciomercato, Milan are interested to sign the 21 year old from Chelsea. In addition, the player has agreed to move to Italy due to lack of game time at Stamford Bridge. Lastly, the two clubs have a very good relationship and hence a deal is very likely to happen in January.

Milan have already benefitted from signing Chelsea players previously. In addition, they have been able to transform the Chelsea misfits and help them to get their career back on track.

Over the recent years, Milan have signed Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Tomori, Abhraham and Giroud from the Blues. All of these stars have been very good for the Italian giants and Chukwuemeka can be the next addition to this list.

Live Updates

Chelsea are surely going to part ways with more than 1 midfielders next year. Earlier, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Cesare Casadei and Carney Chukwuemeka are on the chopping list. Now, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is also being linked with Chelsea exit after just six months. Aston Villa and Rangers have shown interest in him but a permanent move in January is very unlikely.
