A supercomputer has predicted that Liverpool will win the Premier League title. Arne Slot's side have made a fine start to the season and sit top of the table, having won 11, drawn two and lost one of their opening 14 matches.
However, the Reds were not in action over the weekend after their trip to Everton in the Merseyside derby was postponed due to the impact of Storm Darragh, meaning the chasing pack had the chance to close the gap at the summit. Second-place Arsenal failed to make the most of that opportunity after they were held to a 1-1 draw at in-form Fulham, while Chelsea had other ideas, beating Tottenham 4-3 to move above Arsenal and just four points behind Slot's men, who do have a game in hand.
It means that Liverpool sit top on 35 points from a possible 42, with Chelsea second on 31 and Arsenal third on 29 having played a game more. Incredibly, Manchester City sit fourth on 27 and are eight points adrift of Liverpool following their 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Liverpool are no doubt in an incredible position in the title race, but there is still plenty of work to do for Slot and his side, who face Fulham in their next Premier League game this weekend. This is before a trip to Tottenham on December 22, a home game against Leicester on Boxing Day and a clash with West Ham to round up 2024.
Despite this, the Reds have been backed to win the Premier League. According to Bettingexpert's supercomputer, BETSiE, Liverpool are going to come out on top with 82 points from their 38 matches, beating second-place Arsenal (76) by six points, Chelsea (74) and Manchester City (73).
The supercomputer simulated the league seasons 100,000 times. The supercomputer takes into account all match results from last season (across all competitions), pre-season results and the current season as it progresses, projecting the season based on both pre-season expectations and xG earned both for and against during the season. It now also integrates team financial data and player values from Transfermarkt. This additional layer of data provides a more nuanced understanding of team capabilities and potential performance variations.
As well as Liverpool winning the Premier League, the supercomputer has predicted Manchester United to finish 10th. That would be their lowest ever finish since the competition's inception in 1992, pipping last season's eighth-place finish and enduring a new low in United's recent history.
Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester - the three teams that he came up from the Championship last season - have all been predicted to go straight back down to the second tier.
