Girona coach Michel Sanchez says the home support must take the team to "an incredible place" if they are to get a result against Champions League leaders Liverpool on Tuesday night. The Reds head to Estadi Montilivi with the chance to extend their advantage at the summit of the new-look league format to five points.
Arne Slot's Premier League leaders kick off the latest round of European games with Tuesday's early fixture and victory on their first-ever trip to Girona will see them go five ahead of Serie A champions Inter, who currently occupy second place.
Liverpool, who have won all five games so far against AC Milan, Bologna, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid, haven't conceded a goal in the competition since Christian Pulisic netted after three minutes in Milan back in mid-September and Sanchez accepts his team heads into the game as huge underdogs.

“It will be a historic match to enjoy and compete with the Premier League and Champions League leaders," said Sanchez. "I want everyone to be proud and well represented. It's a dream, a special day for Girona. We must enjoy it and compete at 100%
“Liverpool's game is very dynamic. They make a top pressure and they are able to win a lot of duels. We need the magic of Montilivi to make history. The fans must take us to an incredible place”
“These are matches to learn and grow and be better as a team. We have the orgull Gironi (club ethos), we are humble, but we are a team that wants to grow, both in victory and defeat. I leave my life to prepare for the match; for my team and for my fans."
Former Southampton midfielder Oriel Romeu, who is expected to start on the night, added: "We have to approach it as a historic and unique match but we have to work on it to arrive with options.
“Liverpool are an electric, dynamic, vertical, very attacking team. To suffer as little as possible we have to make them feel uncomfortable.
"We have to enjoy and compete and face Liverpool. I was surprised by the new Champions League format. It generates interesting matches every matchday. The competition is winning.”
