Report: South American teenager set for England move amid Man Utd interest, he's played his final home game

Manchester United need to sign another left wing back in 2025 and one potential target appears to be heading for England.

Ruben Amorim has a huge job on his hands at Manchester United.

Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest has really hammered home how much work United need in order to become a force again.

Rio Ferdinand branded the defeat a ‘shambles’ with United now suffering back-to-back defeats.

Amorim’s squad needs some work and Ineos need to back the new boss with signings in 2025.

Dan Ashworth has now left United but the work over potential signings is surely already ongoing with one positions a glaring need.

Manchester United target set for England

United need to find another left wing back with Amorim switching to a 3-4-3 system.

Diogo Dalot hasn’t exactly impressed there and speculation suggests that United want another option in that area of the pitch.

MORE UNITED STORIES

RB Leipzig’s David Raum is a United target whilst United have discussed a deal for Alphonso Davies, though that move looks unlikely.

Another name can be added to the list as reports from El Crack Deportivo in Argentina late in November suggested that United are keen on Lanus star Julio Soler.

The report claimed that Liverpool were also keen whilst River Plate were hoping to strike a deal to keep Soler in Argentina.

The situation surrounding Soler’s future has become very interesting as Argentinian reporter Uriel Iugt claims that Soler is heading to England.

Iugt claims that Soler played his final home game for Lanus in their 2-0 win over Instituto on Saturday.

It’s stated that a move to England is ‘well advanced’ but Iugt did not name the club involved, leaving United fans wondering if he is Old Trafford-bound.

Julio Soler one for the future

Soler was born in Paraguay but represents Argentina at national level, turning out for their Under-20’s.

The 19-year-old has turned out 57 times for Lanus, bagging two assists in the process.

Considered to be one of the top talents in Argentina, Soler is certainly one for the future.

Whether Soler would be the immediate solution at left wing back is another matter though and he may actually be a candidate for a loan before returning to United – if it is United who have made the move.

The jump from Argentina to the Premier League is a big one and following the path of Alexis Mac Allister – loaning Soler back to a ‘bigger’ Argentinian side – may be wise for his development.

That is something for United to consider in any potential move for Soler, but it remains to be seen just where the left back is heading in 2025.
