'Won't Be There In The Top 2' 'They Will Fall Away' Liverpool Fans Issue Verdict On Chelsea's Title Credentials

Chelsea moved within four points of Liverpool in the Premier League table with a 4-3 win over Tottenham at the weekend.

Enzo Maresca’s men are now ahead of the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City, who both drew at the weekend.

Not many fancied the Blues as title challengers at the start of the season and, while some Liverpool fans think they will be a threat, others don’t believe they can sustain their form:

No, they concede far too many goals for a title contenders, good side but won’t be there in the Top 2 in May

They will fall away after February but they will be a major threat next season

With that keeper…….

Absolutely not, they’ll drop points to Brentford next week

I want to say no but the fact they can just disregard the conference league means I think they’ll at least hang around

Defensively and their keeper aren’t good enough. Remind me of LFC in 2013-14 season.

First of all, we should focus on Liverpool. If we win our games, it doesn't matter what other teams are doing.

Chelsea’s defence is a big question mark

The Blues were 2-0 down inside of 11 minutes against Spurs before recovering to win the game. That is an area of weakness which could affect their staying power in the title race.

Even with that being the case, though, they have a lot of options up front and their squad depth is unparalleled in the Premier League. It would be unwise to completely write them off.

Liverpool have a tough run of games coming up

Arne Slot’s side have six games before the end of December. After taking on Girona, they have fixtures versus Fulham (h), Southampton (a) in the Carabao Cup, Tottenham (a), Leicester (h) and West Ham (a).

Early in the New Year, they will also play Manchester United. There is the prospect of the rearranged match against Everton being scheduled for next month too.
