Microsoft has announced a partial lifting of the update block for Windows 11 24H2, specifically for owners of certain Ubisoft games, as reported by Beta News. This comes as part of Microsoft's ongoing efforts to address compatibility issues with the latest Windows update, which has gotten a rough start.
The update block has been removed for two Ubisoft games: Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. But the block remains for three Assassin's Creed games:
Ubisoft deployed temporary hotfixes for Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora that reduced the number of crashes on Windows 11 24H2. Microsoft has said that even though these fixes address the major issues, some performance problems may persist.
Users with the affected games can now expect to receive the Windows 11 24H2 update once they apply the fixes and update the games to the latest versions. Microsoft stated that 24H2 may take up to 48 hours to appear in Windows Update. Restarting the device may speed up this process.
Those with Assassin's Creed titles must wait for additional updates from Ubisoft or Microsoft before installing Windows 11 24H2. Unfortunately, Microsoft still has a long way to go as it works with third-party developers to resolve these problems.
