Alexis Mac Allister shares transfer ambition but Liverpool has no reason to worry just yet

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has revealed he would one day like to play in Spain.

Having arrived at Anfield from Brighton back in 2023, Mac Allister has quickly gone on to become a Liverpool fan favorite, comfortable operating all over midfield for initially Jurgen Klopp and now Arne Slot.

The Argentine has been a mainstay in Liverpool's starting XI this term, appearing in every single game this season for the Reds. While that streak is set to end this week when Liverpool take on Girona in the Champions League due to suspension, Mac Allister is a pivotal part of the Reds midfield.

However, while he still has plenty of time left on his Liverpool deal, the 25-year-old World Cup winner has admitted he would be interested in one day moving to Spain to play in La Liga. In a recent interview with AS, the Spanish outlet asked Mac Allister if he ever saw himself playing in Spain.

Mac Allister replied: "Yes, why not? It's a country I like a lot and I've visited it several times, and, above all, because of the language and the culture, it's very similar to Argentina. I would definitely like to play in Spain one day.

"But right now, I'm very comfortable at Liverpool and I don't think about what might happen in the future."

But with Liverpool set to potentially achieve something historic in Slot's first season in charge at Anfield, something which could set the Reds up for success over the course of the next couple of years, it seems unlikely Mac Allister will be going anywhere anytime soon.

Liverpool.com says: "Since his arrival at Anfield back in 2023 from Brighton, Alexis Mac Allister has been an excellent signing for Liverpool. The Argentine is a versatile midfielder who is adapted well to playing under Arne Slot this term and at just 25, there's no doubt that he can kick on and take his game to new heights.

"That said, the reality is while Liverpool supporters shouldn't be worried about Mac Allister's immediate future in the slightest, players rarely play for one club during their career so there's every chance at some point the Reds star will be able to fulfil his dream of playing in Spain one day."
