Man City 115 charges hearing'concluded'as Arsenal and Chelsea handed relegation clue

The hearing into Manchester City's trial over alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules has concluded, according to reports.

According to the Daily Mail, closing arguments in the case were completed on Friday. A verdict is expected to follow in the coming months via a three-man panel.

The English champions were charged with 115 breaches in February 2023 for allegedly breaching the Premier League's financial rules, a claim they have relentlessly denied. City could face serious consequences if found guilty, something that could impact Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.

Reports last week claimed that a minority of Premier League clubs are keen to see relegation if the most serious charges are proven. However, the Independent claim that remains unlikely as it would require a special shareholders meeting and vote of 15.

Proceedings began on September 16 at London's International Dispute Resolution Centre and following a brief pause, the high-stakes battle has finally concluded.

No matter the outcome of the verdict, it is highly likely that each side would launch an appeal. Should that be the case, a final decision may not be made until the end of next season.

City, who have won four Premier League titles in a row, are accused of failing to report accurate financial information for nine seasons dating between 2009/10 to 2017/18, as well as failing to provide details of Roberto Mancini's pay between 2009/10 and 2012/13.

Failure to provide full details of monies paid to players between 2010/11 and 2015/16 and failing to co-operate with the probe from 2018 and 2023 are also charges they face.
