Everton's skipper Seamus Coleman expressed his dissatisfaction after the much-anticipated Merseyside derby at Goodison Park was postponed due to Storm Darragh. The adverse weather on Saturday meant the final derby at Goodison would have to be rescheduled.
With news of the cancellation coming through in the morning amidst harsh winds and rainfall, Coleman spoke on Monday about how Everton's recent 4-0 triumph against Wolverhampton Wanderers coupled with Liverpool's 3-3 draw at Newcastle might have built momentum for a momentous occasion. "It was disappointing," Coleman remarked.
"We don't know how the result would have went, but the little things like Liverpool dropping points midweek, us getting that win that we needed, kind of changed the tone going into the game a little bit. We were all looking forward to it and we were ready for it - the last Goodison derby."

He noted that setbacks are part of the game and focus must shift to Arsenal now, even as training schedules adapt. Coleman recalled the victory over Liverpool last April and speculated that the rearranged fixture could again take place at night, potentially sparking an electric atmosphere.
Coleman is eager to return to action for Everton, having been hampered by injuries this season. The seasoned defender has resumed training and might be in the mix for the upcoming Premier League clash with Arsenal on Saturday.
He also praised Ashley Young's impressive performances as right-back, saying, "I'm feeling good," Coleman shared. "Obviously it's been a little stop start and I've still been around it as much as I can, trying to play my part.
"Listen Ashley Young has not been doing too badly. He's been fantastic - 39-years-of-age. Even at my age, I'm looking and learning from him - the example he is around the place, how he trains. At the minute that position is in good hands but thankfully I'm fit and well. "
Last summer, Coleman committed his immediate future to Everton by signing a new contract, though it's uncertain if he will captain the side into their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
