Kai Havertz has been playing up front for Mikel Arteta‘s side; he’s been good in flashes, but the Gunners could do with an out-and-out goal scorer should they manage to keep up with Liverpool in the title race.

According to a recent report by Fichajes via TeamTalk, Arsenal are prepared to bid up to £54m for Pedro who has been impressive for Brighton.

Pedro joined Brighton in July 2023 for a fee of £28m from Championship side Watford and he’s since made 49 appearances for the Seagulls, scoring 24 goals.

This season, the Brazilian has scored four goals in nine games and remains one of the more sought after strikers in the Premier League.

Liverpool competing with Gunners for Pedro

Arne Slot’s Liverpool are also reportedly keen on signing Joao Pedro as Darwin Nunez’ performances have been somewhat underwhelming considering his £64m transfer fee.

Furthermore, Anfield could provide a more attractive place for Pedro as his former teammate Alexis MacAllister made the move and the Reds are currently in pole position to win the Premier League.

Arsenal on the hunt for a striker

The Gunners have been linked to several top strikers ahead of the January transfer window, with Pedro being one of the cheaper options.

Newcastle star Alexander Isak has been linked with a move to the Emirates this season as he is yet to sign a new contract at St James’ Park. He has also been linked to rivals Chelsea.

Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres has been a candidate for the Gunners since the start of the summer transfer window although Manchester United have entered the conversation due to Ruben Amorim’s connections to the Swedish international.
