A return to Rangers for Sir Alex Ferguson has been pondered- and the Manchester United icon is already claimed to have provided a verdict.
The former Aberdeen and Old Trafford manager has already taken in some Scottish football action this season, spotted at Celtic Park for some of the Hoops’ matches. But it is Rangers who Ferguson has an association with.
He was a player at the club in the 60s and reportedly recently bought accommodation to be closer to the home of Rangers, Ibrox. Amid Patrick Stewart’s arrival at Rangers as CEO after 18 years across various roles, the ears of former player Derek Ferguson have sprung up.
Getting someone with the experience of the Man Utd icon in and around Rangers is something the club should look to get done, and the ex-midfielder claims the legend has already hinted in the past he wants a role of some kind.

He told Ibrox News: “First and foremost, he could probably buy the whole of Govan never mind just a house. “Alex Ferguson hinted before that he wanted to be a part of Rangers, or at least have some sort of influence. For me, it’s a complete no-brainer.
“I just think you’ve got to tap into these experienced guys who have won things. I’d have Graeme Souness involved in some capacity because it’s important to not only have guys who know the game inside out, but also those who have won things and have an aura about them.
“Alex Ferguson, Phwoah – he has an aura about him. If we can attract guys like that who are willing to come in and about the club, it’s an absolute no-brainer. I’d love to see that.”
