Evans, Lindelöf, Shaw: Manchester United’s latest injury updates vs Plzen (Europa League)

Rúben Amorim has very few injury concerns to deal with as Manchester United prepare to face Czech side FC Viktoria Plzeň in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Rúben Amorim will be hoping to get his side back to winning ways as Manchester United travel to face Czech First League side FC Viktoria Plzeň in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

The away tie is a 2,300-kilometre round trip for the Reds, and represents a perfect chance to get back into the goalscoring groove following recent losses against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.

In the competition, United sit in 12th with nine points but are just one point behind 8th-placed Rangers, who sit at the bottom of the league positions that guarantee qualification to the next round of the competition.

United have three games left, against Plzen, Rangers, and Romanian side Fotbal Club FCSB, of which they may need to win all three to finish in the top eight.

Latest injury news

Rúben Amorim only has three injuries to consider as he selects his squad to face Plzen on Thursday evening.

Recently, Luke Shaw was ruled out following a set-back just weeks after he had recovered from a leg problem that had kept him out from July to December.

Shaw had played just 93 minutes across three games under Amorim before being ruled out due to another injury, and no timescale has been given to his return.

However, in more positive news, the United boss has confirmed that centre-back Victor Lindelöf has returned to training – although Jonny Evans is still out from injury.

“Jonny’s still not training,” Amorim explained last week. “Victor returned to training but is not available for tomorrow, maybe the next game, he will be available.”

Toby Collyer is still recovering from an injury sustained while with England’s U20 squad in October, but United were boosted by the returns of Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martínez.

The pair were suspended for the side’s 2-0 loss against Arsenal but returned against Nottingham Forest, both completing 90 minutes.

Leny Yoro also made his first start in the weekend clash, and is expected to be closely monitored as he progresses from his injury recovery.
