West Ham United must consider the sale of Mohammed Kudus in January amid reported interest from Arsenal.
A report from TBR Football stated (9 December) that Arsenal are “interested” in signing Kudus, who has an £85million release clause (Sky Sports) at the London Stadium.
Finance expert Dan Plumley previously explained why it would be a good deal for West Ham, and it is hard to disagree.
The Hammers must seriously consider his sale in January and the potential advantages it could provide the club.
West Ham should look to cash in on Mohammed Kudus
Kudus is a good player, a very good player. However, his output is simply not good enough, with the forward having registered just two goal contributions so far this season.

As a whole, the Irons have a solid Premier League squad but there are some glaring deficiencies among it and Kudus’ sale would provide the funds to address those concerns.
It would be seen as a net positive for the Hammers, given that Kudus has hardly been able to replicate his 2023-24 form so far this season, not helped by a lengthy ban.

£85m for an attacking player failing to add numbers to his game seems a no-brainer, and if the Irons are to improve, January recruits are going to be necessary.
Arsenal aren’t the only club to be courting Kudus, with Liverpool also linked with his services (TEAMtalk) so the Hammers won’t struggle in finding a potential suitor ahead of a January exit.
If the figures mentioned are to be believed, that money could come in very handy indeed, regardless of who is in charge come the start of 2025.
